ORNAMENTAL EGGS 2005
Illustrated nursery rhymes drawn on goose eggs. The verse circles the bottom of the egg. Images encircle the top part of the egg.

Rudyard Kipling's poem "*The Law of the Jungle*" encircles the bottom half of an ostrich egg. The upper half of the egg is painted with a wolf pack illustrating the poem. Many of the "wolves" represented have domestic dog characteristics as a reminder of the heritage of our pets. SOLD 1 of 2

SOLD - The Emu egg is naturally dark green sometimes almost black. When the shell is carefully ground away the next color is lighter green or teal. I incised this Emu egg with 3 mimbres style creatures in ovals separated by "feather" patterns and accented with yellow and turquoise paint. The entire egg is sealed with clear coat.

Painting these eggs grew out of a project I did for one of my sisters. She wanted a Humpty Dumpty to teach "H" to her young school children. So I obliged her request and began to have many other ideas that I just couldn't drop. For a peek at her Humpty Dumpty click here.
The eggs are painted with acrylic ink over designs drawn on the prepared shell of an egg. The goose eggs and chicken eggs can be displayed by hanging or set in a stand.
